Yarn is just yarn. Machines are just machines. We are the ones who hold the standard – and we have for over 40 years. Our Mill is our philosophy and it’s why we’re still knitting socks in Vermont, with the highest quality yarns sourced from around the world. Even now having three facilities in Northfield and Waterbury, the sentiment is the same. We are still one family. We still own the entire process. And we’ve yet to produce our best sock.

We've owned and operated the Mill for over 40 years. However, in 2004, we introduced Darn Tough Vermont socks with an industry-first Lifetime Guarantee.
20 years ago, when things were a little rough for American manufacturing, the Cabot family could have taken manufacturing somewhere else, and still made a buck. We didn’t. Instead, we rallied and started knitting the best, most durable sock we could imagine. We made something we could be proud of.
